Pokemon Company Announces $5 million Pledge to Non Profit Organisations

The Pokemon Company International announces it will donate at least $5 million to nonprofit organisations around the world.

The official statement on its Twitter said “… donations will go toward improving the lives of children with a focus on diversity, equity and inclusion. In our ongoing commitment to the Black community, this will include organizations supporting education and mentorship opportunities for Black children.”

This matches the amount Pokemon GO makers Niantic have also pledged.

“We’re so incredibly grateful to our partners at The @Pokemon Company group who are also donating a minimum of $5 million to nonprofit organizations following #PokemonGOFest2020. Together we aim to be a force for change,” Niantic tweeted in response to the Pokemon statement.

We stand in solidarity with our Black employees, fans and families who continue to be impacted by systemic racism and senseless violence,”

The list of charities will be released at a later date.
