In it’s first month, Valheim has sold four million copies announced Iron Gate AB on Wednesday and entered the top 5 most played games of all time on Steam. Not bad for a game released in early access on February 2nd. The main factors contributing to this include a heavily addicted player base and a strong presence on streaming sites.
“When Valheim first hit Steam Early Access just three weeks ago, we hoped that all the hard work our small team put into the game these past three years would get the attention it deserved,” the Iron Gate team said. “Little did we know just how much Valheim would resonate with all four million of you.”
What’s even more incredible is that Valheim is Iron Gate’s debut title.
The game has seen 500,000 concurrent players at one point joining the likes of Dota 2, CS:GO, PUBG and Cyberpunk 2077.
It’s also been extremely well reviewed on Steam with 81,000 ‘Overwhelmingly positive’ reviews making it the 57th best-reviewed game on Steam.
